As evident by the heading on this blog, I am Sister Gillespie. I currently serve (June 2012-Dec2013) as a full-time missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. As a missionary, I am called to invite others to come unto Christ. There is a scripture in The Book of Mormon (3 Nephi 5:13) that says it perfectly, "Behold, I am a disciple of Jesus Christ, the Son of God. I have been called of him to declare his word among his people, that they might have everlasting life."
Our message is unique because we know that the same church that Christ established when He was here 2,000 years ago, though it was lost for a time due to aspostasy, has again been restored to the earth through a modern prophet! And we teach what this means for individuals and families...my favorite thing being that families can be together forever!
I absolutely love being a missionary! (That does not mean that this is all fun and games...it is definitely the hardest thing I've ever tried to do!) I love my Father in Heaven, and I love my Savior Jesus Christ...and I love the chance to love and to serve these people here on earth that They love so much!
On this blog I would love to tell you a bit about my life as a missionary and member of the Church, and things I have learned. I hope that as you read, you can get a bit of an idea of who we are and why we do what we do. We don't share the gospel with people so we can increase the numbers in our church...we share the gospel because we believe that Christ's direction to His Apostles: "Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost", and because the gospel brings happiness!
